Domain Transfers
Move Your Domain to BesidesHosting
Transfer domains from any registrar with full DNS control, automatic Cloudflare provisioning, and real-time status tracking. No downtime. No surprises.
Transfer your domain in
Enter the domain you want to transfer and the auth / EPP code from your current registrar.
Your auth code is stored encrypted on our servers and never sent to payment providers.
Process
How a Transfer Works
Four steps from your current registrar to BesidesHosting, typically completed within 5–7 days.
1
Unlock your domain
Log in to your current registrar and disable the domain lock (also called "Registrar Lock" or "Transfer Lock"). This is required before any transfer can begin.
2
Get your Auth / EPP code
Request the auth code (also called EPP code or transfer key) from your current registrar. It is usually delivered by email within minutes.
3
Submit the transfer on BesidesHosting
Search for your domain here and choose the Transfer In option. Enter the domain name and the auth code. We verify it against your current registrar in real time.
4
Confirm and provision
Once accepted, we notify you by email and begin DNS provisioning via Cloudflare. Name servers update within 24–48 hours. Your domain and any existing DNS records are preserved.
Requirements
What You Need Before Starting
- ✓Your domain name — the full domain including TLD, e.g. yourbrand.com
- ✓Auth / EPP code — obtained from your current registrar. Also called transfer key, authorization code, or domain secret.
- ✓Domain must be unlocked — disable Registrar Lock at your current registrar before submitting.
- ✓Domain must not be in its 60-day lock window — ICANN requires 60 days after registration or a previous transfer before a new one is allowed.
- ✓Access to the registrant email address — some registrars send confirmation emails to the domain owner before releasing the transfer.

FAQ
Common Transfer Questions
How long does a transfer take?
Standard gTLDs (.com, .net, .org) complete within 5–7 days following ICANN policy. Nigerian ccTLDs (.ng) typically resolve faster — within 1–3 business days. DNS provisioning begins automatically once the transfer is accepted.
Will my website go offline during the transfer?
No. Your existing name servers remain active throughout. We only update DNS after the transfer completes and you explicitly confirm the cutover.
Does a transfer extend my domain registration?
Yes. For gTLDs, ICANN requires registrars to add 1 year to your existing expiry date at no extra cost when a transfer is accepted.
What if I don't have my auth code?
Contact your current registrar's support team and request the auth / EPP code. They are required to provide it by ICANN policy. If your registrar is unresponsive, contact us and we can advise on the dispute process.
Can I transfer a domain that was just registered?
ICANN requires a 60-day lock period after registration or previous transfer. Domains registered less than 60 days ago cannot be transferred until that window expires.
